The numbers sounded familiar, so I thought everything would be okay. Then, while I was there, I realized a big difference is that I don't walk around outside all day in Houston and everything is air-conditioned here. I remember standing over a table in the Strand and pretending to be very interested in the books on display because there was a fan pointed directly at me. If this never happened, I probably still wouldn't have read <a href="http://powells.com/cgi-bin/biblio?inkey=2-0060507403-2" rel="nofollow"><cite>The Cheese Monkeys</cite></a>, and it's a good book.
