Rectal cancer made funny.

I cannot look at this picture without laughing.

My white-board fell down.

I bought one of those little $5 white boards at Target, with the goal of keeping a “to do” list on it. I have a lot of different things I try to do in my life recently, and I’d been noticing that I was not getting much done on any of them due to a fair amount of waffling between projects — doing 10 minutes on one thing, 5 minutes on the other… I would spend so much time context switching that I would hardly get anything done. So, I got the little white board thing and made a list. It’s worked out pretty well, too. Whenever I would find myself sitting around trying to figure out what to work on, I’d just look to the top of the white board and it would tell me. Very convenient.

There have been some modifications to the plans as I actually work on things; generally, as I start working on something, I will discover that the original scope of my goal was too broad to do all in a row, and I’ll break it up into sub-parts which then get re-distributed in the list. For example, “Blinky lights” might turn into “Breadboard initial blinky lights design” and then later, “Design routing for blinky lights”, “make blinky lights PCB” and finally, “Build blinky lights enclosure”. I also generally try to break things up so that I don’t have too many computer-related things in a row, and I’m learning other crafty sorts of things. It’s fun.

So now the white board has fallen down. I finally remembered to pick up some new mounting tape to put it back up, but while it’s movable and not stuck to wall far from my computer, I thought I’d take this opportunity to type in the current state of the list. I don’t really expect it’s particularly interesting to anybody, but I figure that if nothing else, my future self (Hello future Avi!) will read this an be interested.
